What is volunteering? When does it count?
We often discuss this in order for students to decide whether or not to record hours for Students in the Community.
It comes down to individual definitions of community. It comes down to honest personal assessments of altruistic intent.
It’s good to discuss these things, to check our understandings. It’s interesting that it is often easier to see what volunteering is not.
