Annika Gibson and Emily Heath went trapping last weekend as volunteers. Annika writes, “Going trapping in Makarora is definitely something I would do again. The whole time we were out there, I didn’t feel like I was volunteering at all. It was so much fun and very interesting. The guy who took us there was very nice and knowledgeable, he answered all of our questions happily. We learnt a lot about conservation and trapping and the different types of baits and traps. We didn’t catch much, but it was nice to walk around in the bush for a while learning about the whole project. I would definitely do it again, I’m even thinking about doing it outside of school too. There are so many different opportunities out there for volunteering and I would definitely recommend any of them! “
